Bollin Valley Partnership - Service Plan

We aim to:

  • provide an efficient and cost effective countryside management service for the Bollin Valley
  • improve the Valley’s natural environment and its recreational opportunities by working with existing agencies, communities and individuals
  • involve local people and organisations both in our activities 

To achieve these aims:

We will work with local communities, individuals, businesses,statutory agencies and local government to provide for the Bollin Valley:

  • A Countryside Ranger Service
  • Greater opportunities for recreation for all
  • Conservation and enhancement of the natural environment
  • Encouragement to use the Valley to improve the health of individuals and communities
  • Support for its educational use to meet the needs both of the National Curriculum and life-long learning
  • Public events and activities, which are educational, develop community interests and help people's understanding of the countryside
  • Information on our website
  • Management of recreation sites within the area
  • Development of cycle routes on existing roads and tracks
  • Maintenance of the Bollin Valley Way and permissive as well as public rights of way in the Trafford area of the River Bollin's catchment

We will carry out all management and maintenance of the Bollin Valley within our area of responsibility to a high standard. To deliver the service plan as cost-effectively as possible, the Partnership will:

  • Generate income from grants and from the sale of goods and services
  • Involve private sector finance where appropriate
  • Maximise the use of the voluntary sector
